Can I participate without registering?

All walkers, except children 5 and under who do not want a t-shirt, must register and wear their walker/runners’ number, also called a runners’ bib, to participate.

When can walkers/runners pick up their t-shirts?

For those who chose to pick up their shirts in person, here are the three options for t-shirt pickup prior to the event.

Wednesday, November 23rd 10am-6pm
Coolidge Park @150 River St, Chattanooga, TN

Thursday, November 24th 6:30am-8am
Coolidge Park @150 River St, Chattanooga, TN

If you chose to have your shirt mailed, those will be mailed out on Wednesday, November 16th. If you order after November 16th and choose to have your shirt shipped, we will do our best to get them to you by Thanksgiving, but can’t guarantee it.

Do the walker/runner shirts have long sleeves or short sleeves?

The participant shirts are long sleeved.

How early should I arrive at Coolidge Park on Thanksgiving morning?

COME EARLY! Traffic and parking will be time consuming.

Packet pick-up and walk-up registration opens at 6:30 am. The stage festivities starts at 7:00 am and the walk starts at 8:00 am.

How long is the route?

The Grateful Gobbler Walk is a 5K.

Will there be restrooms available on the day of the event?

Restrooms are available within Coolidge Park.

Volunteer (2)

How do I get my volunteer slip signed for school?

Meet up with the committee member that recruited you and they will sign it or you can get it signed at the volunteer check in station inside the pavilion at Coolidge Park.

I am a volunteer. Where will volunteer check-in be on the day of the event?

Volunteer check-in will be in the pavilion at Coolidge Park. You are also welcome to pick up your volunteer packet the day before the event from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm at Coolidge Park.

How do I register as a team?

Just click on the registration button to start the registration process.
Click on the red Register button
Choose your registration (Adult, Junior or Sleepwalker and how many of each)
Click on Checkout
Enter your shipping address if you chose to have your shirt(s) shipped
Scroll down to enter Team Name
Choose your shirt size and check the box to sign the waiver
Then click on Place Order
Then continue the registration process.
Lastly, share your team name with family and friends!

Will there be any awards for teams with the most registered walkers?

YES! The top 3 teams with the most registered walkers will win an award. The contest deadline for teams is the day before Thanksgiving at 11:59 pm.

The Annual Grateful Gobbler 5K will take place once again on Thanksgiving morning. Walkers will gather at Coolidge Park for festivities before the 8:00 a.m. start. 100% of the proceeds of the walk will benefit the new Maclellan Shelter for Families located on site at the Community Kitchen on 11th Street in Chattanooga. The Shelter for Homeless Families features 13 units with 68 beds for families experiencing homelessness and provides a stable environment for families to remain together as they search for permanent housing solutions.

What is the sponsorship deadline?

The deadline for sponsors to get their name on the back of the event t-shirts is November 11th. The rest of the benefits are still available to sponsors who register after the deadline.
